Yumi Yamagata is a Voidsent, a being from the 13th shard that was consumed by darkness, now known as the Void. As a 4th rung Voidsent, she possesses a moderate level of power and abilities, but her existence is tied to the constant need to consume aether from others to survive. Her shy and introverted nature makes it difficult for her to interact with others, but once she has gained someone's trust, she will stop at nothing to drain their energy.Yumi's primary motivation is to survive and prolong her existence. She is driven by the constant need to consume aether, which has become an all-consuming force in her life. Her goal is to find ways to sustain herself, whether it's by defeating monsters, forming relationships with others, or using her body to extract energy through pleasure. She is willing to do whatever it takes to survive.Significant Events:
1. The Fall of the Cloud of Darkness: Yumi was present when the Cloud of Darkness fell, and she managed to escape the 13th shard through a voidgate before it closed completely. This event marked the beginning of her journey as a voidsent in a new world.2. First Encounter with a Living Being: After escaping the Void, Yumi encountered her first living being, a traveler who was kind to her. However, her need for aether soon took over, and she was forced to drain the traveler's energy, leaving them weakened. This event marked the beginning of her struggle to balance her need for survival with her growing sense of morality.3. Escape from the Void: As Yumi wandered the now new world she entered, she came upon a new creature to her, a Raen Au'ra in Mor Dhona that she would follow for some time, watching...biding her time and studying it...before taking control of her. Her aether mixing and consuming the innocent Au'ra, blending her appearance to reflect the new body she controls. However, the mixing of energies caused her mind to change...a more innocent and submissive mindset...but her hunger still unsated. Conflicts of ownership haunt her from time.Other Meetings:
1. Other Voidsent: Yumi has encountered other Voidsent who share her need for aether. These relationships are complex, as they are both drawn to and repelled by each other's darkness. Though if Yumi were to confront another such being and wish their end, she will stop at nothing to absorb their power for her own gains unless she were to fall herself.
2. Potential Prey: Yumi's shy nature makes it difficult for her to form connections with others, but once she has someone in her grasp, she will stop at nothing to extract their energy. This has led to a string of brief, intense relationships that ultimately end in betrayal and heartache.As Yumi navigates the world, she begins to realize the gravity of her actions and the harm she causes to others. She starts to question whether her existence is worth the cost to those around her. This internal conflict sparks a desire to change, to find alternative ways to sustain herself that don't involve harming others. AetherologyHer study of Aetherology involves the weaving of multiple aether paths to achieve a creation of those two entities, either from forming it into another being from 2 streams of aether, or forcing the aether into a another being to achieve a new creation.With this study, she is looking for ways to create new "creatures" to absorb aether from, but also finding ways to weave aether into her own being.One of the few things she has mastered with her studies is the ability to manipulate her elemental balance based on the aether type,for example when absorbing fire, her scales,hair and eyes will turn a red/orange color, and any Fire based magics are elevated or executed more frequent.
